The Department of Health and Human Services´ Administration for Children and Families will award more than $20 million in grants that seek to improve the well-being of children of methamphetamine and other drug users, through the Promoting Safe and Stable Families Program.
These targeted grants will be awarded to regional partnerships that provide, through interagency collaboration and integration of programs and services, activities and services that are designed to increase the well-being of, improve permanency outcomes for, and enhance the safety of children who are in an out-of-home placement or are at risk of being placed in an out-of-home placement as a result of a parent's or caretaker's methamphetamine or other substance abuse.
Eight grants will be awarded under a variety of funding mechanisms; annual grants will not exceed $1 million. The application deadline is July 3, 2007.
