If your coalition has helped raise awareness about the dangers of over-the-counter cough medicine abuse in your community, then you may be eligible to win CADCA's new Dose of Prevention Award. Winners will receive a cash prize and free registration to attend CADCA's National Leadership Forum in February 2012. The deadline to apply has just been extended until Friday, Dec. 2, 2011!
The award is sponsored by the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), a longtime CADCA partner. The Dose of Prevention award recognizes a CADCA-member coalition that has helped raise awareness about the dangers of over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicine abuse in their community. To be eligible for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Must be a CADCA member in good standing.
• Must have used more than one strategy to raise awareness of OTC cough medicine abuse in their community, such as holding a town hall meeting, conducting parent training and/or working with retail stores to implement age restrictions.
• Must have utilized CADCA/CHPA materials, such as the Dose of Prevention Toolkit or materials from www.stopmedicineabuse.org or www.PreventRxAbuse.org
• Must have been involved in National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month.
The award will be presented during the Award’s Luncheon at CADCA’s 22nd Annual National Leadership Forum in February at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, just outside of Washington, DC. The winning coalition will receive a cash prize, and free registration, travel and 4-nights accommodation to attend CADCA's National Leadership Forum.
