The Senate recently released its versions of both the FY 2012 Financial Services and General Government as well as the Commerce, Justice and Science and Related Agencies appropriations bills. The House had already marked up both of these bills. The following are the highlights from these bills that affect our field:
Financial Services and General Government:
• Drug-Free Communities Support Program Senate FY 12 Mark: $92.6 million (FY 12 House Mark: $88.6 million; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $95 million)
• National Youth Anti-drug Media Campaign Senate FY 12 Mark: $0 (FY 12 House Mark: $0; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $35 million)
• HIDTA program Senate FY 12 Mark: $238.5 million (FY 12 House Mark: $238.5 million; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $238.5 million)
Commerce, Justice and Science and Related Agencies:
• EUDL FY 12 Senate Mark: $10 million (FY 12 House Mark: $0; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $20.8 million)
• Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Grants FY 12 Senate Mark: $20 million (FY 12 House Mark: $0; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $20 million)
• Byrne JAG FY 12 Senate Mark: $395 million (FY 12 House Mark: 357 million; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $431 million)
• Second Chance FY 12 Senate Mark: $0 (FY 12 House Mark: $70 million; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $83 million)
• Drug courts FY 12 Senate Mark - $35 million (FY 12 House Mark: $40 million; last year’s FY 2011 funding level was $37 million)
