CADCA's National Coalition Institute recently released a new Handbook for Community Anti-Drug Coalitions which provides an overview of resources for local groups working in substance abuse prevention.
The Handbook provides a additional resource for the Institute’s growing library of publications aimed at helping local coalitions work effectively and develop comprehensive solutions to their communities’ unique substance abuse problems.
From navigating the alphabet soup of federal agencies’ acronyms to outlining the form and function of community coalitions to understanding the essential differences between a coalition and a program, the new Handbook provides basic tools to empower local groups to succeed in reducing substance abuse rates in their communities.
Download a PDF version of the publication. Print copies will be mailed to Drug Free Communities Support Program grantees and Weed and Seed communities in September. Coalitions also may order up to five print copies of the publication free by sending an e-mail to institute@cadca.org. A small shipping and handling charge is assessed on orders of more than five copies.
