A&E Network, home of Emmy-award winning program Intervention, is looking for individuals in long-term recovery for their Recovery Project Delegate Program. The A&E Recovery Project Delegate Program was developed in 2008 to bring national attention to recovery by honoring individuals in recovery from every state.
To be eligible for the Recovery Project Delegate Program, individuals must have been in recovery for at least 10 years and must be active in their local recovery community. To date, 102 individuals from each of the 50 States and District of Columbia have represented their state at the Recovery Rally in New York City where more than 15,000 people have gathered to celebrate recovery.
CADCA is joining this effort to help expand The Recovery Project Delegate Program and generate increased awareness for addiction and recovery across the country. Eligible individuals should submit their personal stories of recovery at www.therecoveryproject.com/delegates for the chance to represent their state at this year’s Recovery Month activities.
Selected delegates will:
• Receive complimentary airfare and hotel to a Recovery Month event in September
• Network with fellow delegates at a welcome reception the night before the event
• Have their stories of recovery highlighted/shared with local/national media
• Help promote recovery through video posts, blogs and other updates on The Recovery Project’s Facebook page
Applications are being accepted now through May 28, 2010.
