Over the last three years, the D.C. Department of Health’s (DOH) Addiction, Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA) has worked to develop a strong prevention infrastructure focused on mobilizing community organizations and leaders to address substance use and abuse in the District. As part of a grant funded by SAMHSA, CADCA works with APRA to train community leaders from local prevention centers using its comprehensive community problem-solving framework. On May 7, APRA’s community-based initiative culminated in the first D.C. Prevention Leadership Forum, held at Gallaudet University’s Kellogg Conference Center.
