Scholarship Information

CADCA, along with support from SAMHSA, is providing scholarships covering limited costs related to the 2008 Mid-Year in Palm Springs, California.

Your coalition must have been in existence for at least 6 months for you to be eligible to apply. This eligibility criterion is the same for a coalition to apply as it is for a Drug-Free Community Grant.

While completing the attached application, please consider your actual need, as we would like to provide assistance to as many attendees as possible.

DESCRIPTION OF AWARD

An adult scholarship covers costs related to the Mid-Year - registration fee and up to four nights single occupancy lodging at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa. Incidentals are not included. A credit card will be required at check-in to cover all incidental costs.

Youth must be between the ages of 13-18. A youth scholarship covers registration fee and up to four nights double occupancy lodging at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa. Incidentals are not included. A credit card will be required at check-in to cover all incidental costs. Please note that chaperons or youth sponsors are not included in the award and are responsible for all of their own Mid-Year related expenses.

Scholarship recipients are responsible for all other expenses, including individual travel and meals. Scholarship recipients agree to attend the entire Mid-Year and must stay at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa. If an applicant is unable to attend, he/she may re-apply next year. The scholarship award is non-transferable.

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION

A selection committee will make recommendations and CADCA has final authority for selection of the scholarship awards. Recipients will be notified by July 2, 2008. If selected, please notify Stephanie Whitmore at swhitmore@cadca.org by July 7, 2008 to confirm your acceptance.

Scholarship applications will not be accepted after June 18, 2008.
