Social Networking: Act Local, Listen Global explored three of today’s most popular social networking sites—Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter—and the implications of using global networks to reach coalition members, stakeholders, partners and funders and the community at large.

The session also considered local, community-based networks such as Connected Communities, a peer-to-peer network for community coalitions. The panel discussed which type of social network may be most appropriate based on community assessment.
